Dustin O'Halloran Collaborates With Benoit Pioulard

Dustin O'Halloran has collaborated with Benoit Pioulard as part of the THESIS project, which brings together two musicians who have never worked together before to create a 10” record together. Both jacket and sleeve are designed, laser cut, laser etched, drawn and painted by Gregory Euclide. You can find our more about the project here. Listen here

Lion Score Receives Academy Award Nomination

Dustin O'Halloran and Volker Bertelmann's score for Lion has been nominated for Best Score at the 89th Academy Awards. Philip Glass 80th Birthday Celebrations

This month sees the iconic minimalist composer Philip Glass celebrate his 80th birthday. The landmark is being honoured by a number of concerts and events in London, including the Royal Ballet performing Les Enfant Terribles; a BBC Symphony Total Immersion Day; and a live orchestral screening of Godfrey Reggio’s Visitors. God's Own Country premieres at Sundance Film Festival 2017

Francis Lee's debut feature film God's Own Country, which features music by musical duo A Winged Victory For The Sullen, has premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival. The film has received glowing reviews already from The Guardian, Variety and The Hollywood Reporter with many more sure to come.

Assassin's Creed Hits No. 1 Spot

Action-adventure feature Assassin's Creed has debuted at the top of the UK box office. The music for the film was composed by Jed Kurzel, with music supervision provided by Music Sales' Lucy Bright. The video game adaptation has so far generated over £5m since its theatrical release on January 1st.

The Guardian Top TV Picks For 2016

The Guardian has announced it's Top 50 TV programmes from 2016, including the series Transparent, with original music by Dustin O'Halloran, and Trapped (pictured), the Icelandic drama scored by Hildur Guðnadóttir. Alberto Iglesias Nominated For Goya Awards

Film composer Alberto Iglesias has been nominated for a Goya award for his original score of the film Julieta. The motion picture, directed by Pedro Almodóvar, has received nominations in seven categories and has been shortlisted by the Spanish Academy of Cinema to represent Spain in the Academy Awards. Throughout his career, Iglesias has been received 10 Goya awards including music for The Skin I Live In (2011), Volver (2006) or All About My Mother (1999).

Music Sales To Represent Injazero Records

Music Sales will now be representing the publishing rights for independent record label, Injazero Records, as part of it's on-going relationship with Aim Low Music. Injazero Records are based in London & Brighton and specialise in modern classical, interesting electronic music and avant-ambient, with plenty in between. It is currently the home of LTO (of Old Apparatus), Villette and C. Diab. The label was formed by two ex-FatCat staffers (including one member of acclaimed instrumental band yndi halda) in 2015 for the release of LTO's No Pasa Nada EP.

Martin Creed Christmas Video

As a special gift, Martin Creed brings us ‘It’s You’, a Scottish Christmas carol with a difference. With echoes of Val Doonican and Johnny Cash’s Christmas specials, and overtones of ‘Listen With Mother’, ‘It’s You’ is a philosophical nursery rhyme for all the family. Iris OST Released

A Winged Victory For The Sullen's original score for Jalil Lespert's French thriller Iris is out now. Currently available as a digital release on Erased Tapes, physical copies are due for release in January 2017. Listen here

Lion Premieres With Score By Dustin O'Halloran & Volker Bertelmann

Following its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, Garth Davis's new film Lion garnered strong praise from critics as well as being first runners up for the People's Choice Award. The film, featuring Nicole Kidman, Rooney Mara and Dev Patel, was released in U.S. cinemas on November 25 2016, with international releases planned from the following months. The original score for the film by Dustin O'Halloran and Volker Bertelmann has been nominated for best original score at the both the Golden Globes and BAFTA. The soundtrack is available digitally now.

Broadcast Awards 2017

The nominations for 2017's Broadcast Awards have been revealed, including a number of programmes that Music Sales have been involved with across the past 12 months. Hetty Feather (pictured), with original music by Andy Price, has been shortlisted for Best Children's Programme whilst This Is England '90, music supervised by the Music Sales team, is up for Best Drama Series. Mike Gale & Ilona V Release Dream Pool

Described by Louder Than War as 'a gentle sound that takes you away to a better place', Dream Pool is the result of an email collaboration between Ilona V and Mike Gale. New Tiger & Woods Album

On November 4 Tiger & Woods released their second full-length album via their own T&W Records. Entitled On The Green Again, the album embodies the duo’s unique take on disco-oriented beats with an array of synth melodies that further explores influences of electronica and up-tempo house. The album comes more than 5 years after their first LP, Through The Green, with the duo releasing a handful of 12-inches and one 15-track collection of free edits in the meantime. Listen here

Leon Russell dies aged 74

The amazingly talented, member of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and hit music maker Leon Russell has died aged 74. Russell wrote a huge number of hits for others, including Music Sales copyright "Superstar" for the Capenters which can be heard here.
