Educated in conducting and composition at Boston's Berklee College of Music, followed by four years at the Moscow Conservatory, Sacha Puttnam is a well-established composer, arranger and music editor for film, advertising, television, theatre and radio as well as several live ensembles.

With diverse musical interests ranging from classical to rock and electronica, Puttnam has conducted the Moscow State Orchestra, arranged for Hybrid, Sia and Regina Spektor, toured with Moby and Muse, as well as recording and touring for several years with platinum-selling rock band Bush.

Puttnam has orchestrated and worked alongside legendary Hollywood film composer Michael Kamen, composing the incidental music for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games and collaborating with him on the score for Pat O'Connor's film, Inventing The Abbotts. He later wrote the score for Robert Lepage’s Oscar-nominated The Confessional (1995), as well as Paul Lynch’s The Keeper (2004). Recently, Puttnam has scored the movies Rising Tide 1 & 2, the animated feature Return to Rainspell Island and a number of other motion pictures such as First: The Official Film of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

For BBC Radio Four, Puttnam wrote the music for Sony-Award-winning adaptations of Bleak House, Q&A and A Suitable Boy. In 2005, Puttnam's released his first classical album, Remasterpiece, recorded with long-time collaborator, DJ Chris Coco. Alongside his film and radio work, Puttnam arranged and released a top five classical album in July 2014 with Puttnam plays Puttnam.
